I used everything out there to get a rusty discoloration out of my white porcelain sink, & they all failed. I used Iron Out & after 3 apllications (5 minutes) it was 100% gone. I wet the area with water, sprinkled the powder, let sit for 30 seconds & scrubbed with a sponge. I did this 3 times. Awesome product!

This stuff does the job. Bought it to remove rust stains in toilet. It is very strong and powder can dust up when poured and can be breathable. I’ve also used it in water softener as directed. Not very keen to do this, but it says you can use it that way. Wife says she can taste it in the water afterwards and may be right, but it goes away after a charge or two. Don’t use too much.

I use Iron out along with basic salt for my water softener. We have alot of iron oxide in our well water and Iron Out does a great job of cleaning out the iron deposits on the pellets of our softener.

I bought this product to clean out a clients resin tank, it worked. However, it left behind a rancid fish smell that wasnt there before doing the treatment. Not sure what that was about. I figured the chemical probably loosened up some nasty stuff which didnt come out with the first full regeneration cycle. A second regeneration took care of the smell.

I really like using Iron Out in with the salt in the brine tank of our water softener. With a high iron count, we need to keep the iron cleaned out. Iron out helps us keep our softener working. The only thing I would like to see is a larger bottle back on the market.

hands down great product for removing rust from any surface, I use this product to remove rust from old cast-iron pans before reseaoning them. it’s also the only thing I’ve found that will remove mineral deposit build up in toilets .

I have very hard water and get a lot of rust build up, even with a whole-house water treatment system. My three toilet tanks were bright orange. I used Iron Out, easy to use, no scrubbing. In an hour the tanks were totally clean.

We have a well paired with a water softener. I’ve always used water softening salt that’s advertised with iron-fighting properties. However, after 5 or so years with our new washing machine – I’ve noticed red/orange residue in certain places that I believe to be iron related. So, I purchased this Iron Out at my local following a recommendation from their sales associate. When I opened the container, I noticed a smell of sulfur. Following the directions on the bottle, I dissolved the prescribed amount of powder in water and then added the solution to my brine tank. The following week, I kept noticing the faint smell of sulfur everywhere I went. I even asked my wife, and she smelled it too. Then I realized the odor was coming from my shirt(s). The laundry we’ve washed for the last week or so all smells (slightly) like sulfur. I’m hoping this will disappear altogether with time. I’m not sure if I’ll use any more of this product. Eliminating iron is certainly a positive – but adding the sulfur is also a negative. I guess it depends on how bad is the iron in your water.

I can say that this product works just as they say! Super easy to use! IRON OUT that’s right, all of it and I don’t know where it goes but it disappears! Amazing. Once you start using on any water that has iron and mud deposits, like mine, now it’s all out! Clean filters without scrubbing…what ease! Where did the junk go? I don’t know and don’t care but it simply diapered! I did flush out just in case and is all great! Take a good look at these photos that I uploaded…is that proof or what? It so hard to clean these filters before, now I din’t even scrub or anything, just put the Super Iron Out in the filter housing and back flush just a little to make sure it gets in all 4 filters. The results you can see… First it starts turning like an ink bluish color and then in just a few minutes super clear and the white is super white!!!! WOW nothing else to say…compare the photos and look at the filter element that goes in the Big Blues I have, placed it in a bucket and turned it upside down after a couple of minutes…to really check this amazing product…no taking it out to wash it or scrub it…I’m thrilled that’s why I’m writing this. Look at the difference in the center of the filter that I use on my BIG BLUES that are out of the picture but are right below the clear ones you can see… I used to take the element out that is in the picture and clean, scrub etc… to get them clean but never like this white clean and no scrubbing!!! Thanks to this great and unbelievable product!!!!!! Loews has it. I always had problems washing the white colored filters and also the see-through special washable elements that are in the photo. Didn’t even take the element out on the top ones! just poured a little powder of the product on the big bottom one and back washed (flushed) just enough to get the water with the Super Iron Out into all my filters, and left them 5 minutes before I turned the pump on again. Simply amazing! buy the product!!! I highly recommend this product! I’m not affiliated with Loews or the product maker. Today’s technology is just amazing.

The city recently replaced all of the water pipes on my street. In doing so, they flushed the lines, sending rusty water into our homes day after day. And all that rust sat in my two toilet tanks.
I tried this product, following the instructions on the back, and in the morning all of the rust was gone. Completely gone!
I highly recommend this product.

I use iron out for cleaning baseball pants. It is great. I have twins that are constantly getting their pants dirty from sliding into base. This product is GREAT at getting out the red sand from white baseball pants. That is my only use for iron out.

This stuff is awesome. I had tried the other rust products and nothing worked. My toilets were especially bad because the house sat empty for 6 months before I bought it. I live in Alaska and my well water is quite hard.
I poured it in the toilet, let it sizzle and fizz for a bit then scrubbed and left it for a couple hours. Pictures are before, during fizz and after a couple hours. I also purchased the iron out toilet tank tablets but just put them in yesterday so can’t comment on those.

The water at our cabin has rust in it and my laundry starts to look yellow. Using Iron Out in my laundry makes everything look great. I also use it in my porcelain sinks, tub and toilet, works like a charm. Shipping was quick.

This product has incalculable value to folks who live in an area with high soluble iron in the water. It removes all rust stains on fixtures and appliances.

If you took high school chemistry you might remember oxidation and reduction reactions.
Oxidation is the removal of electrons, reduction is the addition of electrons.
Iron is a gray color but when it oxidizes it turns red. The rust stains are red oxide.
Iron out is a chemical that is a reduction agent. It chemically reacts with iron oxide and turns it back into iron.
That’s the science behind Iron Out and why it works so much better than the acid based cleaners.
I use it every time I replace the household water filter. I use it to clean the cartridge housing. I just fill up the housing with warm water. Add a coupe ounces and stir to dissolve. In five minutes I rinse it out and it looks like new again.
If I wait too long to change the filter we sometimes we get red stains on clothes. My wife just rewashes the clothes with some Iron Out and it removes any rust stains as well as removing any residual iron oxide from the washing machine.
I’m a coatings chemist and I also recommend this product to folks that have iron stains on their siding or stone work. Works like a charm.
There is a sulfur smell to the product that can be irritating. Just be careful to not create any air borne dust since the Iron Out powder is the worst offender. This problem can be eliminated by adding the iron out to some water outside the home then adding the liquid to the washer, toilet bowel, or whatever you want to clean.

I use for certain whites with rust stains, sweat stains, and yellowing from using sunscreen in the laundry. It is a fine powder that comes up at you when you pour it, so I just dump an amount directly in the machine and close the door. It smells terrible. But, you just let it soak the clothes for 5-10 minutes. Then, add your detergent and finish the wash. Even cleans the white socks which seem to be worn as shoes at times by my family. Overall process of removing stains goes quicker with this product.

Lives up to it’s claim, works very well on rust stains unlike many products that dont.
Quickly removes rust from toilet bowls, showers, and sinks from rusty well water.

I happened across a YouTube video which showed how this product worked. Living in a home with a great deal of iron in our water, we had a lot of iron stains in our commodes. I’d tried other products and, some even worked but required a lot of elbow grease. I was skeptical that something just setting in the water would clean but, I was proven wrong. Following the label directions, it worked amazingly well. So well, in fact, I broadcast my new find to the neighborhood website. Received lots of positive feedback on it with many thanks. I will mention one negative feedback. The writer stated that after prolonged use, the shininess of the porcelain dulled but I’ve not had that happen as a new customer of the product.
I will continue to use the product with no hesitation.
Thank you

We are using this stuff for our whites sheets and t shirts, but wow, have we found it helpful for many other places that have rust stains. We have very hard water, so every 2 months I add some to the toilet tank and leave it over night. The inside of the tank looks new now. So we now are testing it all over, and it has come out on top over many over rust removal products. We now only use Iron Out or Iron Ike.

Iron Out Rust Stain remover works so good on white linens and clothes that turn yellow from our well water and restores them to WHITE! Use common sense, read and follow directions and it works like it says it does. THAT makes me happy as too many products make claims that don’t prove to be true. Iron OUT Rust Stain Remover works.

I love this product and have been purchasing it for years now. Unfortunately, the price went up about 20% this year so now I am considering other products.
