This product saves me tons of time and labor removing rust from metal parts. Word of caution: this product is very powerful so you need to dilute it with water and watch not to leave your parts in it too long ! ! Rinse in water when you take your parts out. Read the directions…

Saw a YouTube video on how to “clean up” a slow flushing toilet using CLR.
I used 1 container on 3 toilets. Not the most fun I’ve ever had recently, yet considering a plumber would cost quite a bit more, I took on the challenge. I’d recommend.

The first time I used CLR, I thought it was highly overrated, because I sprayed it on and scrubbed and scrubbed to no effect. I went to bed not to happy. However, in the morning I was shocked. Forty-five years of rust stains were gone from the toilet tank. It was unbelievably white. The copper screws were like a new penny. I learned my lesson. CLR works through a chemical reaction. Spray it on, or pour it in, and LET IT SIT. Attached is an example picture. The results aren’t as dramatic as when the tank was virtually black. But I think you can see it is still amazing stuff. In this application, I poured the CLR in a spray bottle and just kept the sides wet by spraying a mist on over the course of about an hour.

I bought this to clean rust stains from a toilet bowl and it did not work. Yes I followed the directions.

I’ve used this stuff before with moderate to good results. But this time I had the ultimate challenge. We have hard water in the Midwest. That means a brownish calcium builds up in fixtures (toilets, sinks, tubs) unless they are regularly scrubbed — and even then they can build a very hard, crusty deposit. A utility room toilet was neglected for years until the threat of company forced our action. I shut off the water valve, then used a screwdriver to chip away at the large chunks for an hour. I gave up and got the CLR. The standing bowl water was mostly scooped out, and I started brushing on a 50/50 solution, over and over. The continued for about 30 minutes until there was no trace of calcium left. THANKS CLR.

CLR is so handy to have around the house. I use it in the dishwasher to descale before using the tablets to sanitize. I use it in the washing machine to do the same thing. Both once or twice a month. I use it to take the surface rust off of the springs on the garbage can lid that sometimes get water on them and start to rust. I use it on rusty nails or screws. I use it on plumbing fixtures to clean the old plumbers tape off and the threads. I use it to remove the fog off of glassware. I use it to remove surface rust on tools. I use it to decalcify the toilet, the bath sinks, and other plumbing fixtures. CLR really works and I’ve used it for years. I recommend it to everyone. CLR is awesome. A+ 5*s.
